And the recommendation is given that mothers must nourish their children (infants) at their breast for two
years so that the children receive all the necessary nourishment for their health and survival throughout their
entire life, because the mother's nourishment is of great importance; and the begetter of the child shall be
obliged to provide for the child's mother and the child's nourishment and clothing in accordance with the customs and habits of the people in question; however, the father of the child shall not be imposed upon beyond
his ability so that he can carry out his duty in honour and dignity; therefore the child's mother shall not allow
the father to suffer, nor her child, nor shall the child's father allow the mother and the child to suffer; and the
same thing applies to the godparents and the siblings and relatives or other wardens and the heirs. |

Und es ist gegeben das Gebot, dass Mütter ihre Kinder (Säuglinge) während zwei Jahren an ihrer
Brust ernähren, auf dass die Kinder alle notwendige Nahrung erhalten für ihre Gesundheit und
das Bestehen während der gesamten Lebenszeit, denn die Mutternahrung ist von grosser Wichtigkeit; und der Erzeuger des Kindes soll in der Pflicht sein, für die Kindesmutter und das Kind
Nahrung und Kleidung zu erbringen, je nach Brauch und Sitte des jeweiligen Volkes; es möge
der Vater des Kindes jedoch nicht über sein Vermögen belastet werden, auf dass er in Ehre und
Würde seine Pflicht erfüllen kann; also soll die Kindesmutter den Vater nicht leiden lassen ob
ihres Kindes, noch soll der Kindesvater die Mutter und das Kind leiden lassen; und das gleiche
obliegt auch den Paten und den Geschwistern und Verwandten oder sonstiger Pflegeschaft und
den Erben. |
