And if you give (donate) to the poor and needy willingly or unwillingly simply for the sake of semblance
(hypocrisy/sanctimoniousness), then you are making yourselves guilty of deceit, falseness (deviousness) and
lying, therefore you shall only give donations in honesty and truthly kindheartedness, in order that you may receive honour and dignity for this in honesty. |

Und gebt (spendet) ihr für die Armen und Bedürftigen willig oder unwillig nur um des Scheinens
(Gleisnerei/Scheinheiligkeit) willen, dann macht ihr euch des Betruges, der Falschheit (Verschlagenheit) und der Lüge schuldig, also ihr nur in Aufrichtigkeit und wahrheitlicher Güte spenden
sollt, auf dass ihr in Aufrichtigkeit, Ehre und Würde dafür empfangen könnt. |

Do not prevent yourselves from honestly giving alms (gifts) to the poor and needy or to any other good cause,
because if you are righteous ones (responsible) then you do not allow yourselves to fall into passivity when you
see poverty and need which you can relieve through gifts (alms and donations). |

Verhindert euch nicht selbst am ehrlichen Geben von Almosen (Gaben) für die Armen und
Bedürftigen oder für sonst eine gute Sache, denn wenn ihr des Gerechtens (Verantwortungsvollen) seid, dann lasst ihr euch nicht in Trägheit fallen, wenn ihr Armut und Bedürftigkeit seht,
die ihr durch Gaben (Almosen und Spenden) lindern könnt. |

And truly, those amongst you who reproach those who are giving alms (gifts) in honesty, you would probably
only be satisfied if you were to receive the alms (gifts) yourselves, but as you receive nothing of them then you
are angry and reproach the righteous ones (conscientious ones) and fair ones (responsible ones). |

Und wahrlich, jene unter euch, welche ihr jenen Vorwürfe macht, welche in Ehrlichkeit Almosen
(Gaben) geben, so wärt ihr wohl nur zufrieden, wenn ihr die Almosen (Gaben) erhalten würdet,
doch so ihr nichts davon erhaltet, seid ihr verdrossen und macht den Rechtschaffenen (Gewissenhaften) und Gerechten (Verantwortungsvollen) Vorwürfe. |
