in order to be narrow-minded, loveless, inferior and unsignificant. |

If you are fathoming out your true core, if you are peeling away layer by layer, then you take your time in doing
so, although you are filled with expectations that you will find goodness in yourselves, as you also hope that the
next morning or your next life will bring good things for you – but when you then finally reach the centre of the
core of your inner nature then you discover with dread that there is nothing in there but emptiness or rubbish
because you could not put anything valueful into it since your consciousness has been left dormant and you
have made your thoughts and feelings blunt, incapable and unconcerned through a belief in a god or tin god. |

Wenn ihr euren wahren Kern ergründet, wenn ihr Schicht um Schicht davon ablöst, dann lasst
ihr euch Zeit damit, wobei ihr jedoch von Erwartungen erfüllt seid, dass ihr Gutes in euch findet,
wie ihr auch hofft, dass der nächste Morgen oder euer nächstes Leben für euch Gutes bringt –
doch gelangt ihr dann endlich in den Mittelpunkt des Kernes eures Wesens, dann entdeckt ihr
mit Schrecken, dass darin nichts als Leere oder Unrat ist, weil ihr nichts Wertvolles hineintun
konntet, weil euer Bewusstsein brachgelegen hat und ihr eure Gedanken und Gefühle durch
einen Glauben an einen Gott oder Götzen stumpf, unfähig und unempfindlich gemacht habt. |

But it is only when this discovery has been made that you ask yourselves whether there might not be a different way leading to the effective truth rather than the belief in a god or tin god, so that you can nevertheless
still break through from the centre of your inner nature to the real truth. |

Doch erst, wenn diese Erkenntnis wahrgenommen wird, fragt ihr euch, ob es nicht doch einen
anderen Weg gibt, der zur effectiven Wahrheit führt, als den Glauben an einen Gott oder Götzen,
so ihr vom Zentrum eures Wesens her doch noch zur wahrlichen Wahrheit durchbrechen könnt. |
