254) And if you have separated from one another as man and woman then you shall not presume to revile the other party, slander them or do anything bad to them; therefore you shall also not prevent the separated woman or the separated man from entering into another bond of marriage if the woman or man has agreed with another man or woman in a decorous wise; truly, this recommendation is also an admonition that it will be more beneficial and more understandable for you when you follow this guideline (sign-posting/leading thought).
254) Und seid ihr als Mann und Weib geschieden, dann sollt ihr euch nicht erdreisten, den anderen Teil zu beschimpfen und zu verleumden und ihm nichts Schlechtes tun; also sollt ihr aber auch nicht das geschiedene Weib oder den geschiedenen Mann daran hindern, anderweitig wieder ein Bündnis der Ehe zu schliessen, wenn das Weib oder der Mann in geziemender Art mit einem anderen Mann oder Weib einig geworden ist; wahrlich, dieses Gebot ist auch eine Mahnung, auf dass es für euch segensreicher und lauterer sei, wenn ihr diese Richtschnur (Wegweisung/ Leitgedanke) befolgt.
