And avarice (stinginess) as a great terrible thing of people of your kind (human beings) is if you cling avariciously
to possessions and riches and thereby leave others to go hungry and starve, if you are pitiless towards the poor
and needy who require the help of your possessions and riches, but from whom you withhold that portion which
you would be able to give them and through which they would not have to either go hungry or starve. |

Und Habgier (Geiz) als grosses Übel Euresgleichen (Menschen) ist, wenn ihr euch habsüchtig an
Besitz und Reichtum klammert und andere dadurch hungern und darben lasst, wenn ihr erbarmungslos seid gegen Arme und Bedürftige, die der Hilfe eures Besitzes und Reichtums bedürfen, von dem ihr ihnen jenen Teil vorenthaltet, den ihr vermögt ihnen abzugeben, wodurch
sie nicht hungern und nicht darben müssten. |

Avarice (stinginess) also includes lovelessness, theft, deception and lying, as well as envy towards other people
whose goods and chattels and riches are begrudged them; and truly, avarice (stinginess) can only be overcome
through true love and love for the next one, which also contains generosity in joy. |

Habgier (Geiz) birgt in sich auch Lieblosigkeit, Diebstahl, Betrug und Lüge, wie auch Neid wider
die anderen, deren Hab und Gut und Reichtum ihnen missgönnt wird; und wahrlich kann Habgier (Geiz) nur überwunden werden durch wahre Liebe und Nächstenliebe, worin auch die
Freigebigkeit in Freude enthalten ist. |
