Do not form your inner nature as a dwelling of terrible things against which you yourselves commit outrages
(do irresponsible deeds), because you do not make it clear to yourselves how you must proceed with yourselves
in order to lead your existence (life) fairly (responsibly) and righteously (conscientiously). |

Gestaltet nicht euer Inneres (Wesen) als Wohnstätte des Übels, gegen das ihr selbst frevelt
(Verantwortungsloses tut), weil ihr euch selbst nicht deutlich macht, wie ihr mit euch selbst verfahren müsst, um gerecht (verantwortungsvoll) und rechtschaffen (gewissenhaft) euer Dasein
(Leben) zu führen. |

And do not make yourselves promises that you cannot keep because you do not strive to keep them. |
24)
Und gebt euch nicht selbst Versprechen, die ihr nicht halten könnt, weil ihr euch um deren Einhaltung nicht bemüht. |

And if you do not do rightfully in all things in your life, then you will be remorseful about it at the end of your
days (end of life) and feel yourselves blamefully clapped into chains that you can no longer cast off. |

Und tut ihr in eurem Leben nicht des Rechtens in allen Dingen, dann werdet ihr darüber am
Ende eurer Tage (Lebensende) reuig sein und euch schuldig in Ketten gefesselt fühlen, die ihr
nicht mehr abstreifen könnt. |

Therefore, be admonished so that in your existence (life) you do not do unrightfully (irresponsibly) and
unrighteously (consciencelessly) in all things, so that at the end of your days (end of life) you can depart from
this world calmly and with dignity, without fear. |

Seid also ermahnt, auf dass ihr in eurem Dasein (Leben) in allen Dingen nicht des Unrechtens
(Verantwortungslosen) und nicht des Unrechtschaffenen (Gewissenlosen) tut, auf dass ihr am
Ende eurer Tage (Lebensende) in Ruhe und Würde und ohne Furcht aus dieser Welt scheiden
könnt. |

Be upright and peaceful in yourselves and carry forth your uprightness and peaceableness into the world amongst
people of your kind (human beings) so that all may be upright and peaceful in righteousness (conscientiousness) and fairness, and as fair ones (responsible ones). |

Seid in euch redlich und friedvoll und tragt eure Redlichkeit und Friedfertigkeit hinaus in die Welt
unter alle Euresgleichen (Menschheit), auf dass alle redlich und friedlich werden in Rechtschaffenheit (Gewissenhaftigkeit) und Gerechtigkeit und als Gerechte (Verantwortungsvolle). |
